Overview

AF145 - LVDT Displacement Transducer

The design of the AF145 LVDT transducer has evolved from technology and experience gained in over 30 years in the bespoke aerospace / military sensor market, where performance and reliability under extreme operating conditions are paramount. The transducer coil has been specifically designed to reduce overall transducer length, enable high accuracy ratiometric operation, and operate in the "Differential Output" configuration.

By keeping the signal conditioning electronics away from the transducer, the full potential of the LVDT is realized and not compromised by the presence of sensitive electronics. The result is a more reliable transducer solution, easily installed, adjusted, and with a greater choice of signal inputs and outputs. The electronics have been tested to operate 25 meters from the LVDT, with the output driving 240 meters of cable.

The LVDT transducer system provides a highly reliable solution for position sensing, particularly in hostile environments. In addition, the contactless operating principle allows a fit and forget installation so that zero maintenance programs can be incorporated within plant service schedules.

These LVDT displacement transducers are designed to provide the user with the most popular mounting styles for a wide range of industrial applications. Stroke ranges from 5mm to 150mm are available from stock, so call your nearest sales office for the latest information.

We offer a custom design service for larger-scale users who can customize the mounting arrangement or shaft assembly to suit a specific system requirement.

For optimum performance, we recommend the use of the purpose designed signal conditioning modules to operate this LVDT sensors:

  • UCM - Universal Conditioning Module, with IP68 protected metal enclosure.
